Arctic Robot Workshop

In this interactive 90-minute workshop, you will experiment with a temperature-sensitive robot that reacts to changes in its environment. As the robot responds to heat and cold, you will explore how people, communities, and technologies adapt to different climates, from tropical conditions in Vietnam to Arctic winters in Finland.

Artic Robot Workshop
Explore. Experiment. Discover.
Sometimes the most interesting ideas emerge when we step beyond our comfort zone and start looking at familiar problems from a completely different perspective.
In this free 90-minute hands-on workshop, you'll explore how curiosity, observation, and experimentation can lead to new ideas and discoveries. Through interactive activities, you'll gain insights into how engineers and innovators investigate challenges and how how simple ideas can inspire innovation.
No programming experience is required. Bring your curiosity, creativity, and willingness to explore something new.

In this hands-on workshop, you will:
  • Experiment with temperature-sensitive robotic behaviour
  • Discover how sensors help technology understand and respond to its surroundings
  • Explore how innovation can begin with simple observations and experiments
  • Learn how technology boosts everyday life in Arctic environments
  • See inspiring examples of student innovation projects from the University of Oulu
  • Explore study opportunities, innovation activities, and student life in Oulu, Finland
The goal is not to find the "right" answer. It is to observe, experiment, test ideas, and learn from results and personal experiences. By approaching challenges from new perspectives, you may discover possibilities you had never considered before.
Participation is free. Join us to experiment with robotics and experience how curiosity and creativity can inspire innovation and every lives.
